(President Grant, October 1936 General Conference) This quote is in regards to the Church's Welfare System, which was set up in 1936, but still applies to us today. My favorite word in that quote is THRIFT; we should be a thrifty, or provident, people.

FREE PEARS
Free Pears for the Family – You must pick them yourself – Casey Fisher from the Kolob 10th ward spoke to a man at the address who said that they are not going to be picked and will rot on the trees.
1. Take Highway 51 (Main street) to Spanish Fork from Springville, turn right onto 400 N.
2. Follow 400 N. Westbound in Spanish Fork across I-15 which then turns into W. 6400 South.
3. Stay straight (heading westbound) and W 6400 S. become South 4800 West
4. Turn left onto W. 6300 S. – Then becomes W. 6400 S. – About 1.3 miles
5. Turn right onto Lincoln Beach Road
6. Go ½ mile to 6082 S. Lincoln Beach Road, Spanish Fork or Benjamin, Utah
Please feel free to distribute this to all of your ward members. If you want to organize some sort of Pear picking activity feel free to do so. Casey said that the pears will go to waste and will not be picked. It still might be beneficial to stop at the home of the individual at 6082 S. Lincoln Beach Road to let him know you are there.
