"Our primary purpose was to set up a system under which the curse of idleness would be done away with... and independence, industry, thrift, and self-respect be once more established amongst our people." (President Grant, October 1936 General Conference) This quote is in regards to the Church's Welfare System, which was set up in 1936, but still applies to us today. My favorite word in that quote is THRIFT; we should be a thrifty, or provident, people.

Stake Blood Drive
Part of being a "provident people" is sharing our excess, right? Well, here is a chance to give some excess by donating blood! =) The Red Cross blood drive for our Stake is Friday, November 25, from 9:00am-1:00pm. The location has changed from the Stake Center to our old building on 400 East. There is a sign up sheet outside the Bishop's office, on the bulletin board. The sign up sheet will be passed around next week also. Thanks!
